Detalis: GYNEMED GM501 Mineral Oil is a highly purified, ready-to-use paraffin oil designed to cover and protect culture media used in assisted reproduction procedures such as IVF, ICSI, and embryo culture. It provides an effective barrier against evaporation, pH fluctuations, and temperature instability, ensuring a stable and controlled micro-environment for gametes and embryos. Key Features & Technical Specifications Composition: Pharmaceutical-grade mineral (paraffin) oil, compliant with European Pharmacopoeia and/or USP standards. Density: 0.83 – 0.86 g/mL Viscosity: < 30 cP at 30 °C Peroxide Value (POV): < 0.10 mEq/kg, ensuring oxidative stability. Endotoxin Level (LAL test): < 0.10 EU/mL Sterility: Tested according to Ph. Eur. / USP – no bacterial or fungal growth detected. MEA (Mouse Embryo Assay): ≥ 80 % of embryos reach the blastocyst stage after 120 hours under oil overlay conditions. Pre-washed formulation: Each batch of oil is washed twice with ultra-pure water and filtered to eliminate residues and ensure immediate usability. Intended Use The GM501 Mineral Oil is used as a protective overlay on culture media droplets in IVF dishes. It prevents evaporation of the medium, minimizes changes in osmolarity and pH, and maintains temperature stability during culture and micromanipulation procedures (such as ICSI or embryo biopsy). Handling & Storage Storage temperature: 15 – 25 °C (do not freeze). Shelf life: 18 months from the date of manufacture. After opening: The product can be used for up to 28 days, provided sterile handling and storage conditions are maintained. Temporary cloudiness may occur when stored at lower temperatures but will disappear when equilibrated to room or incubation temperature. Prior to use, it is recommended to equilibrate the oil in an incubator (37 °C, 5–6 % CO₂) along with the culture dishes to ensure temperature and gas stability.
